// NEBOSH INTERNATIONAL GENERAL CERTIFICATE (IGC)​

The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) is a leading global organisation, which provides health, safety and environmental qualifications. Tens of thousands of people from more than 170 countries study for a NEBOSH qualification every year, learning with their network of over 450 Learning Partners.

JAM Training currently provides two NEBOSH courses; the International General Certificate (English and Arabic) and the Health and Safety Leadership Course.

Their internationally recognised qualifications help to raise the competence of safety and environmental professionals as well as individuals at all levels in the workplace. NEBOSH qualifications are highly respected by governments, employers and learners.

Overview

Relevant to every workplace, the NEBOSH International General Certificate is ideal for managers, supervisors and anybody with health and safety management responsibilities. It’s also perfect for those embarking on a health and safety career and gives you a stepping stone to success. Trusted by many prestigious organisations, it can help to:

Mode of Study

Face to face – classroom, online – virtual classroom or in company training.

Course Duration

The International General Certificate will involve a minimum of 65 taught hours and approximately 40 hours of private study and background reading. It is possible for fast track learners to complete the qualification in 10 working days.

  11. Electricity

Assessment

Assessment is a two-step process:

  • IG1 - An open book examination to assess what you know. This is scenario based and will include a closing interview, you will be asked questions about your submission.
  • IG2 - A practical risk assessment to assess what you can do three (3) hours. Learners will complete a risk assessment and develop an action plan for their workplace – this is immediately useful and valuable.

Pass standards

  • IG1: 45 marks
  • IG2: The minimum standard required for a IG2 ‘Pass’
  • A ‘Pass’ must be achieved in both units to achieve the International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

Qualification grades

  • The qualification grade is based on the result from IG1
  • Distinction: 75 marks or higher
  • Credit: 65 – 74 marks
  • Pass: 45 – 64 mark
