The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) is a leading global organisation, which provides health, safety and environmental qualifications. Tens of thousands of people from more than 170 countries study for a NEBOSH qualification every year, learning with their network of over 450 Learning Partners.

JAM Training currently provides two NEBOSH courses; the International General Certificate (English and Arabic) and the Health and Safety Leadership Course.

Their internationally recognised qualifications help to raise the competence of safety and environmental professionals as well as individuals at all levels in the workplace. NEBOSH qualifications are highly respected by governments, employers and learners.

// Health & Safety Leadership Excellence

Overview

The NEBOSH Certificate in Health and Safety Leadership Excellence is interactive one day course for business leaders. The course content highlights the moral, legal and financial reasons for good health and safety leadership and offers guidance on the key areas to focus on to achieve it. It will help you become a better health and safety advocate and influencer by highlighting the key areas to focus on to make a difference.

It is relevant for all business leaders working in any sector, anywhere in the world.

Mode of Study

Face to face – classroom, online – virtual classroom or in company training.

Course Content

The business benefits of health and safety leadership (including the moral, legal and financial arguments):

  • The effects of good health and safety leadership of safety culture
    Human failures
  • Decision making process including mental short cuts and perception biases
  • Leadership styles
  • The HSE’s five leadership values
  • Building relationship with the workforce

 

Course Duration

1 day (7 hours)

 

 

 

Assessment

The assessment will be in the form of reflective statements which will be undertaken throughout the course. The reflective statements are designed to show how the candidate’s knowledge, skills and behaviors may have both positive and negative affects on the health and safety performance of their organization. Candidates will also need to make a commitment to a single leadership intervention to improve health and safety management within their organization, or sphere of workplace influence.

Candidates must achieve a ‘Pass’ in HSL1 to pass the qualification.
